After 34 years, Davidoff Cigars has decided to leave the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers (Procigar), an institution founded by Hendrik Kelner, as confirmed by Humo Latino.
It is worth noting that Henke Kelner was the founder and president of Procigar for 32 years, as well as the director of Tabacos Dominicanos (Tabadom)—a company acquired by Davidoff in 2001 to relocate its production to the Dominican Republic. Kelner served as master blender, manager, and global ambassador for Davidoff until his departure in 2021.
With this departure, Procigar is left with 11 members: Arturo Fuente, La Flor Dominicana, La Aurora, General Cigar Dominicana, Tabacalera Palma, Tabacalera de García, Casa Carrillo, Quesada Cigars, De los Reyes Cigars, PDR, and Arnold André.
