Procigar remains united, solid, and focused on the future, promoting the culture and legacy that have turned the Dominican Republic into the Cigar Capital of the World, the institution stated following the formal exit of Davidoff (Tabadom Holding) from the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers after 34 years as one of its founding members.
In an official statement, the organization noted that it acknowledges Tabadom Holding’s formal notification regarding the conclusion of its membership in the Association, emphasizing that it continues to advance its institutional agenda while staying firmly focused on its mission to defend, strengthen, and promote the Dominican tobacco sector worldwide.

Together, the Association represents the backbone of the Dominican premium tobacco industry—an economic engine powered by thousands of dedicated families, master blenders, and highly skilled artisans.”
As preparations for the upcoming Procigar Festival move forward and the Association approaches its 35th anniversary in 2027, Procigar continues to accelerate its strategic initiatives. These include expanding community and social responsibility programs—such as support for teenage mothers, comprehensive academic scholarships, and specialized technical training at its cigar-making school—as well as strategic public-private partnerships aimed at defending the prestige and competitiveness of Dominican cigars internationally.
