Entre Humos has officially incorporated La Aurora, the Dominican Republic’s oldest cigar manufacturer, into its brand portfolio, following a new collaboration agreement with Bayamón Tobacco Co., the authorized distributor of La Aurora in Puerto Rico.
The partnership kicked off on November 19 with the local debut of the La Aurora 120th Anniversary, a commemorative cigar crafted to mark the company’s 120-year legacy. The launch event brought together key figures including Manuel Inoa, La Aurora’s Master Blender; Persio Paulino, International Sales Manager; teams from Entre Humos and Bayamón Tobacco Co.; and a select group of Entre Humos clients, who received an exclusive technical presentation led by Inoa.
Initial shipments of La Aurora products have already begun reaching Entre Humos retail locations in San Juan, Palmas del Mar and the company’s online store, EntreHumos.com.
As part of the expansion, cigar lounges and tobacconists across Puerto Rico will now be able to purchase La Aurora at wholesale pricing through CigarsIsland.com, the B2B distribution arm of Entre Humos. Retailers can register and open their accounts directly on the platform.
For Cándido Alfonso, CEO of Entre Humos LLC, the partnership carries personal meaning. “La Aurora holds special significance for me. My first cigar was a León Jimenes No. 4, and you never forget the cigar that brings you into the world of premium tobacco,” he said. “Having La Aurora in our portfolio and working directly with Manuel Inoa—someone I deeply respect for both his knowledge and character—is a privilege. This is more than a business step; it’s a tribute to a cigar house that has shaped generations.”
The agreement strengthens the presence of a historic Dominican brand in the Puerto Rican market and underscores Entre Humos’ aim to continue raising the bar in premium cigar offerings.
La Aurora’s Master Blender, Manuel Inoa, also highlighted the significance of the move, calling it “a major moment of collaboration and alliance between Entre Humos and our official distributor, José ‘Cheo’ Fernández of La Aurora Cigars Company, for Puerto Rico—the Island of Enchantment.”
