*Initiatives promoting Dominican tobacco, like the SDE Cigar Fest, create new opportunities to strengthen an industry that represents tradition, quality, and development for the country
The director of the Tobacco Institute of the Dominican Republic (Intabaco), Iván Guzmán, accompanied by deputy director Radhamés Díaz Méndez, Agricultural Director Isidro Tavares, and Geographic Information System (GIS) Manager Ernesto Pérez, received the executives of the SDE Cigar Fest, Benny Batista, CEO of Valdespina Cigars, and Ariel Arias, CEO of Bohemio’s Cigars.

They discussed the impact the festival has had on promoting Dominican artisanal cigars, consolidating itself as a space that brings together national brands, manufacturers, and enthusiasts to drive the quality, tradition, and positioning of Dominican tobacco.
The visitors also toured Intabaco’s facilities, where they learned firsthand about the work the institution carries out across its research, technical assistance, training, and producer support divisions—actions that contribute to strengthening the sector in the country.

The executives of the SDE Cigar Fest presented a recognition award to the institution’s Director as a gesture of appreciation for his support and commitment to the development of the Dominican tobacco industry.
