InterTabac Concludes with 750 Exhibitors from 64 Countries

After three days of intense commercial and strategic activity in Dortmund, Germany, the trade show trio comprised of InterTabac, NUBIZ, and InterSupply closed its doors, having brought together nearly 750 exhibiting companies from 64 countries and thousands of international visitors across its ten exhibition halls.

According to the organizers, 40 percent of the attendees came from various German federal states, reaffirming the event’s relevance to the domestic market, while the remaining 60 percent arrived from every continent.

A strong presence of trade delegations was registered from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, China, Indonesia, India, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa. European countries maintained a broad representation of professionals from Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, the Benelux region, and the United Kingdom.

In a press release, InterTabac reported that retail and tobacconists accounted for 30 percent of the visitors; manufacturers and the tobacco industry represented 25 percent, while wholesale and foreign trade made up nearly 23 percent.

Prior to the trade show activities, the educational sessions of the Cigar Culture Summit took place: over six hours, approximately 250 executives, high-level tobacconists, and experts listened to the analysis of topics such as emerging markets, regulatory challenges, the development of new blends, and innovative concepts for specialized retail.

Among the participating companies, standouts included CST Consulting, Maya Selva Cigars, J.C. Newman Cigar Company, Vrijdag, Vandermarliere Cigar Family (VCF), and Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG).

“The industry had the opportunity to present its products of enjoyment and its profound cultural relevance in an extraordinary manner. Once again, the Cigar Culture Summit provided an excellent framework to highlight the special characteristics of our tobacco craftsmanship,” noted Bodo Mehrlein, Managing Director of the German Cigar Industry Association (BdZ).

Regarding the trade show activity, for three days, the direct dialogue between manufacturers, premium cigar distributors, tobacconists, and supply chain stakeholders defined the event’s dynamic. The main focus was on numerous product launches, exclusive vitolas, and market novelties, all evaluated firsthand.

The exchange with international experts, associations, and members of the entire value chain turned InterTabac, NUBIZ, and InterSupply into an ideal platform for anticipating the industry’s opportunities and challenges. Furthermore, the specialized newspaper Die Tabak Zeitung (DTZ) awarded the InterTabac Stars to the most popular products exhibited for the retail channel:

  • Premium Cigars: CigarKings for the Coy 26 Aero Lancero vitola, and Villiger for San Martín.

  • Cigarillos: Cigarrenfabrik August Schuster for the XO line.

  • Traditional Cigarettes: Heintz van Landewyck for Mademoiselle La Rose.

Likewise, the annual Cigar Trophy Awards ceremony, held at the Messe Dortmund Congress Centre, was dedicated exclusively to the premium cigar universe, honoring the best brands, vitolas, and artisans of the international industry, according to the voting by the specialized magazine Cigar Journal.

Finally, InterTabac officially confirmed the dates for the next edition, which will take place from September 14 to 16, 2027, at the Dortmund exhibition center.
